Our Journey

 

Our journey began in the early 1980s when the Batson family started decorating garments in their kitchen for the local souvenir market. Recognising a growing demand for plain garments, they grew the business from the ground up, from these humble beginnings. In 1991, we became an authorised distributor of Jerzees (Russell Europe) and, soon after, Fruit of the Loom.

Four decades later, we have expanded into a thriving team of over 500 integral team members, operating across multiple countries and stocking over 100 different brands and 4,000 styles. Throughout our expansion, we take pride in remaining a family-owned business, dedicated to being big enough to accomplish, yet small enough to care. Jon and Jeff Batson, who continue to be deeply involved, now oversee the business alongside other family members, ensuring its continued success.

Our Sustainability Values

 

At Ralawise, we’re committed to continuous improvement in sustainable initiatives, reducing our impact. We value the importance of the environmental impact of our business, products, their packing, product safety and social responsibility in supply chain practices, working with our facilities and partners for a better future.

 

Our Packaging

All the packaging we buy is responsibly sourced, recycled or FSC certified. Where possible, we repurpose packaging from our partners to reduce our waste.

 

Our Energy

We have been working to reduce our impact and improve our energy efficiency. 100% of our electricity comes from renewable energy sources, and we have completed a recent project to replace all lighting in our buildings with low-energy LED bulbs. We have reduced 50% of our buildings to no longer having gas supply and we are ESOS accredited.

 

Our Waste

Since 2023, we have achieved zero waste to landfill. We work with our textile recycling partner Avena to ensure our textile waste is recycled into second-life materials or Textile2Textile recycling for new fabrics.
